Assignments will be challenging and experienced engineers will mentor students in the EID Program. As an intern, you will get exposure to different parts of the Energy Connections business and will have a chance to attend training and development sessions. Perform design and analysis of Energy Connections technology and product lines which may include smart metering, controls platforms, electrical converters, motors, drives, Smart Grid technologies, transformers, electrical substation, circuit breakers, etc. Responsibilities include develop and implement new design concepts and design improvements. Learn engineering standards and construction practices. Execute engineering productivity projects on a program team. Understand electrical and mechanical engineering drawings. Learn how to lead a project in product management.An intern will be given career development opportunity and corporate exposure, as well as future consideration into the GE Leadership Programs including the Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP).

Preference will be given to persons with 3.2/4.0 overall or higher GPA who have prior intern, co-op, or research experience, that have demonstrated an analytic approach to problem solving, have demonstrated leadership skills, community involvement, and a passion for technology. Preference will be given to persons who have interest in one or more of the following areas: power electronics, power systems, and controls. Desired candidates have geographic flexibility and must be willing to relocate.
